Cast compatible content to Chromecast
Chromecast and Cast-enabled televisions can launch Castario's hosted Custom Web Receiver. You do not install a native Castario TV app for this route—but Google Cast does not provide Castario screen mirroring.

The Cast device starts the hosted receiver at castario.de/cast/ for each supported session.

This route hands selected content or an address to a Cast session. It is casting, not a live copy of the phone screen.
Supported HLS and IPTV
Play compatible channels from playlists you add yourself. Castario supplies no channels or content subscription.

Open pages that permit embedding, including the supported YouTube path, with navigation controls suited to the Web Receiver.

Open Castario on the phone
No native Castario app needs to be installed on a plain Chromecast.

Choose the Cast target
Select the Chromecast or Cast-enabled television found by the sender.

Choose a compatible photo, media item, page or IPTV channel. The device launches the Castario Web Receiver for the session.

Questions about Chromecast
Do I install Castario on Chromecast?
No native TV app is required for the Google Cast route. The Cast device launches Castario's hosted Custom Web Receiver when a supported session starts.
Can Castario mirror my phone screen to Chromecast?
No. In Castario, screen mirroring requires a compatible native Castario receiver. Chromecast and Google Cast are routes for selected content, pages and playback commands.
Can Chromecast play IPTV through Castario?
It can play supported HLS/IPTV channels from a playlist you add, subject to provider access, stream format, headers, DRM and Cast playback support. Castario provides no channels.

The first public sender is coming to iPhone and iPad. Choose a native Castario receiver for mirroring, or use Google Cast or a compatible standard TV route for the features that route supports.
